Squamish leads the way by "taking back the tap"
The time has come to take back the tap! Did you know that the quality of Squamish water is amongst the best in the country? Time to kick the bottle and take back the tap! Congratulations to the District of Squamish for leading the way: Our municipality has decided to "take back the tap", improve access to public drinking water in our community, and phase out the sale and purchase of bottled water in municipal property. And OUR chance to learn about OUR water comes on Monday, Nov 8th, 7pm at Quest University (multi-purpose room) Following the screening of acclaimed documentary Tapped (shortened, educational version), our very special guests will share with us some crystalline facts about our water. Bring your questions; we'll keep the answers flowing! *Squamish CAN Water Coordinator MARK SHEPHERD – Water, a basic human right or an article of commerce? *Squamish Mayor GREG GARDNER – Squamish takes back the tap! *DoS Chief Operator of Water Works MARK CAULTON – What's in your glass? *Squamish River Watershed Society EDITH TOBE & KIM ARMOUR – Watershed wellness = Clean drinking water This is a FREE event not to be missed!
